The second round of the IDM season is taking place at the Motorsportarena Oschersleben

Two weeks ago, the IDM – the International German Motorcycle Championship celebrated its season opener at the Lausitzring. The engines will be roaring for the second time this coming weekend, this time in the Motorsportarena of Oschersleben.

Markus Reiterberger will also start in the premier class, the IDM Superbike of course. The three-time German champion travels to the area around Magdeburg with a double win from the season opener in his pocket. The Bavarian was able to win the first two races at the Lausitzring by a wide margin.

Reiti hopes to be able to repeat his success from the season opener on Germany's northernmost racetrack in Oschersleben once again. One of his biggest opponents in the championship, Florian Alt (GER), struggled with technical problems at the Lausitzring and didn't collect any points as a result. Markus is currently 17 points ahead of his teammate Jan Mohr (AUT), leading the championship. He is 50 points ahead of Florian Alt. In Oschersleben, 50 points are waiting again for the more than 20 participants in the Superbike class. Reiti hopes, of course, that he can take these home with him.

Markus Reiterberger is currently testing with the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team in Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, where the second event of the FIM World Endurance Championship will take place in two weeks. Reiti will travel directly from there to Oschersleben in Germany.

Markus Reiterberger:

“Of course we want to get two wins again. The chances are good, we have found a great set-up for all conditions. I feel really good with the team and I'm in a great mood now after the two days of testing for the long distance in Spa. Then it goes straight on to Oschersleben. It's not exactly my favorite track, but I think we can be fast there if we work well together. We want to get the best out of the weekend and, of course, ideally extend our lead in the championship with two wins.”
