It was already published in various media last weekend that Markus Reiterberger, in addition to his commitment in the Endurance World Championship with the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team 2022, will again be pursuing a full-time contract in the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM). With the merger of Andy Gerlich's BCC Racing Team, with which Reiti celebrated some incredible successes in 2021 in the Superbike 1000 class of the IDM, including three wins and two second places and the Alpha-Van Zon-BMW team of Reiti's manager Werner Daemen, the BCC-Alpha-Van Zon-BMW team has now emerged, in which Reiti WILL start next season alongside Jan Mohr, Pepijn Bijsterbosch and newcomer Kamil Krzemien.
It was already clear during his three guest appearances with the BCC Racing Team in 2021 that the Bavarian feels comfortable in the IDM and on old terrain, and initial discussions between Reiti's manager Werner Daemen and Andy Gerlich from Heilbronn gave an idea that further collaborations within the teams are in preparation. In 2021, Reiterberger finished sixth overall with his three participations in the series and made it onto the podium in five of the six races. It is undisputed that the motivation for further participation was great after this success rate.
In addition to participating in the IDM, Reiti is also attending to his obligations in the EWC. For the endurance world championship, the Bavarian and his team have clearly set themselves the goal of winning the title this upcoming season. The title will also be the goal in the IDM. With Werner Daemen's team, Reiti had already secured the German championship title in 2013, 2015 and 2017. In 2018, 2019 and 2021 the team won the title with Ilya Mikhalchik, who is a teammate at Reiterberger’s side in the EWC.

Markus Reiterberger:
Of course I'm happy to be part of Werner Daemen's team again. BCC Racing was a great opportunity for me last year. The merger of the two teams enables me to work again with Andy Gerlich and Werner Daemen. This also allowed me to involve some of my old team members and I am very happy that this worked out. Of course, this makes me highly motivated and I can look forward to the German championship title with confidence. Many will surely ask why I am returning to the IDM. The answer ist quite easy. I've always felt comfortable in the series and have celebrated a lot of great successes here. The championship is regional, you don't have to travel that much and you're close to the German fans, which I enjoy. I'm looking forward to a cool season in the IDM, which is a great topping to my commitment in the Endurance World Championship. I will have a lot to do in 2022 with the guest starts with the Dunlop test team and possible guest starts in the Asia Road Racing Championship.
