Munich. Markus Reiterberger (GER) will compete also in the 2020 season with a BMW S 1000 RR. The 25-year-old will ride in the Onexox BMW TKKR Racing Team in the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in the coming season and will compete there with a Superstock version of the new RR.

The Asia Road Racing Championship is becoming increasingly popular worldwide and attracts prominent names from international motorcycle racing. It is the most important championship in Asia. In the current season, it hosts racing events in Asia and Australia. The team is one of the most successful teams in the ARRC and celebrated winning the riders' title with Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman (MAS) in the 2019 season.

The Onexox BMW TKKR Racing Team is a private customer team. BMW Motorrad Motorsport will provide extensive support for Reiterberger in the 2020 ARRC season.

"We are delighted that Markus will remain part of the BMW Motorrad Motorsport family," said BMW Motorrad Motorsport Director Marc Bongers. “We are convinced that he will be one of the top riders in the Asia Road Racing Championship from the first race. He knows the BMW S 1000 RR very well, and with the Onexox BMW TKKR Racing Team he competes in one of the strongest teams in the series. As BMW Motorrad Motorsport, we will make our contribution to a successful season, including full technical support. "

"I'm really looking forward to the Asia Road Racing Championship, and I'm looking forward to competing there with the Onexox BMW TKKR Racing Team next season," says Reiterberger. “This championship is getting stronger and stronger and is attracting more and more international interest, also on the part of the manufacturers. The team already showed this season that it is one of the best teams in the series. I think we can achieve a lot together in 2020. I have not only proven that I can handle Superstock versions of the RR very well, being a European Superstock champion. So the ingredients for a strong season are there, I'm looking forward to get it started.”

“It is fantastic to have Markus Reiterberger on board for the 2020 season in the Onexox BMW TKKR Racing Team,” says team boss Bobie Farid. “He brings a lot of racing experience with him, and the Onexox BMW TKKR Racing Team can only bring it forward. It will be a great learning process for the team to become even more competitive and set new standards in the Asian Road Racing Championship. The Onexox BMW TKKR Racing Team wants to build further on the strong performance with Azlan Shah in the 2019 season, and of course we want to continue winning races and consistently finishing on the podium. We will work hard with our partners to be competitive and it is about having a winning mentality in all areas of the Onexox BMW TKKR Racing Team. We expect the competition between the teams to be very strong, but we are convinced that the team will be on it on the starting grid in the 2020.”
