Markus Reiterberger leads the timesheet after the first test with a new team and bike in Sepang
Markus Reiterberger and his alpha Racing crew did the first test with the Onexox TKKR SAG team in the Asian Championship. The Bavarian finished the first day of testing in second position behind Broc Parkes, who had overtaken him shortly before the end of the session. Nevertheless, Reiti is happy with this result. He hasn't had such a good feeling and response from his team for a long time.
Initial chattering problems were also resolved on the second day of testing and Markus Reiterberger broke the lap record of the series with a 2'05.388 time, although the conditions on the track were not as good as on the first day. It had gotten significantly hotter and the the grip level went down. But the 25-year-old is satisfied with the two days of testing and after a day off, the first event of the Asian Championship starts on Friday.
Markus Reiterberger: "I rode a 2'05.7 time on the first test day with the softer tyres. That's not bad. Problems with chattering stopped me a bit. Nevertheless, I was able to finish the practice in second position. We started with the bike at a very high level and there was not much room left to go higher. Basically, I was really satisfied with the first day. On the second day of testing it got a lot hotter and we had less grip on the track. The chattering problem was still present. Despite all of this, we managed to be extremely fast. Without the difficult conditions we would have been faster. My crew did a great job and responded to my needs. It's a great feeling and I haven't had this in a long time. My problems were solved and it just felt great. I thank my team for the great work. Now we have a day off and we will start attacking on Friday. ”
