(EN) WorldSBK-Round Portimao, Portugal - Free Practice

Confident start into final sprint of the season

The final sprint of the season started today for Markus Reiterberger at the Algarve International Circuit after the long summer break with two fantastic top ten results at the first practice day in Portimao, Portugal. Reiti already had a good feeling with the bike and set up of his BMW S 1000 RR at the official test of the FIM MOTUL Superbike world championship two weeks ago at the Portuguese racetrack and he looked confident towards the tenth round of the WorldSBK-season.

The first day of the Acerbis Portuguese Round was a positive one for the 25-years-old. With the seventh position at the first free practice and the ninth position at the second free practice, Reiti was able to finish the first of the three days in Portimao in seventh position overall and is satisfied with the result and the feeling with the bike, as well as with the team work in the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team and with the start into the weekend.

Markus Reiterberger #28, P7: „Today was a good day, the first one since a while now. It was already visible at the test two weeks ago, that I come along quite well. I tried all in the first free practice already. I had a few small mistakes while braking, which we still have to work on. We have to optimize the stability during braking. We used the first free practice to work with the tyres. During the second free practice we tried the qualifying tyre. It was too hot for the normal tyre during the afternoon. Then we adapted the chassis a little bit. I have to try to get a bit more constant. But I am really satisfied, as I finish the day in seventh position. There is still room to the top and I hope I can continue to improve. The team works really well and I am looking forward to tomorrow.“
