(EN) Free practice - Day 1 - Pirelli Round of Italy, Imola

Not an easy start for Reiti into the Italian weekend in Imola

The start into the Italian visit of the MOTUL FIM Superbike world championship did not go to plans for Markus Reiterberger. The 25-years-old expected more after the very good last WorldSBK-Meeting at the Dutch circuit in Assen. But he just missed out on the Top 10 today at the Autodromo Internationale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola.

„Reiti“ could not find into his usual rhythm on the first of the three days at the Italien racetrack. During the first free practice this morning Reiterberger rode his BMW S 1000 RR onto eleventh position. He then was able to improve his time during the second free practice in the afternoon, but not his placement and so he finished as 13th in the combined times, one position ahead of fellow countryman Sandro Cortese in 14th.

Markus Reiterberger #28, P13:

„I am a bit disappointed to be honest. To miss out on the Top 10 is not good, especially after the good weekend in Assen. I had expected a lot, but up to now it did not go to plan. We had a lot of movement inside the chassis today and that is why I can’t hold the line. I am struggling with my rhythm at the moment. We will work on that to continue with the progress we have made in Assen. It felt better during the second practice this afternoon, but I am still way too far off.“
