A tough weekend under challenging conditions

  • Third round of EuroMoto 2026 – Most, Czech Republic

Markus Reiterberger had higher hopes for the weekend in Most, Czech Republic, at a circuit that actually suits the 32-year-old quite well. However, with temperatures well above 30 degrees Celsius, conditions became increasingly difficult for both rider and machine. The BMW 1000 RR and the tyres simply refused to work in harmony, no matter what efforts the Masteroil Alpha Van Zon BMW Team made. Unfortunately, Reiti could only qualify in eighth place on the grid for both races on Saturday.

However, he couldn’t quite find his rhythm in either Race 1 or Race 2 on Sunday, and the Obing rider finished both races in seventh place, leaving him currently in fourth position in the championship with a total of 85 points, just two points behind Florian Alt (Holzhauer Racing Promotion). But there are still four rounds – and therefore eight races – ahead of Reiterberger and his team, and anything is still possible. The weekend at Most is now behind them, especially as Reiti is already on his way to Suzuka in Japan for the legendary eight-hour race of the Endurance World Championship and left straight after the EuroMoto event in Most. There, he will continue to fight for the long-awaited world championship title with the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team.

The next EuroMoto event will take place in Oschersleben from 31 July to 2 August 2026. Information about the championship is available at: www.euromoto.racing

Markus Reiterberger:

“It was a dramatic weekend. We got off to a pretty good start on Friday, but unfortunately we didn’t manage to improve on that. We made a lot of changes to the bike and tried out many different options. I gave it my all and at times pushed myself beyond my limits. Unfortunately, after starting from eighth on the grid, I could only manage seventh place in the first race as well. I just didn’t feel comfortable on the bike and, as a result, couldn’t find the pace to make it onto the podium. For the second race, we made a few more changes and I got off to a good start. I benefited slightly from the scramble in the first corner and came out in fifth place. After that, I managed to keep up reasonably well. Unfortunately, I then had a massive slide and had to give up a few positions. In the end, I secured seventh place for the second time. But the changes didn’t have the desired effect. I really gave it my all and I’m satisfied with my own performance, but the set-up simply didn’t work for this track and the overall conditions this weekend. I’d like to thank my team for working so hard again this weekend. I hope things will go better at the next EuroMoto event. Now we’re off to Suzuka, where we have a very clear goal in mind.”
