Markus Reiterberger and the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team return to the scene of their greatest success to date: this weekend's 24H SPA EWC Motos is the second round of the 2023 FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC).
Last year Markus Reiterberger, Ilya Mikhalchik and Jérémy Guarnoni celebrated a historic victory at this 24-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps. The success at the home race was not only the first victory in a 24-hour race for the team around Werner Daemen, but also the first triumph by a European manufacturer over this distance in several decades. Reiterberger and his teammates are motivated to repeat this success.
Markus Reiterberger:
"Spa-Francorchamps is the home race of our team. And it's practically the home race for us as well. Spa is a really great race track. We have very good memories from last year's victory. We did a two-day functional test there as part of a hobby event, where we gathered our first impressions with the new bike on the race track. Now it's time for the final tests, where we will fine-tune the bike. I think that as a team we are in a better position than ever. We are ready! We would like to at least finish on the podium, but of course we would rather go for the win. That is our declared goal. The weather forecast is good, the team is great. Nothing stands in the way of success and we will give everything for it."
