Markus Reiterberger will line up as a substitute rider at this weekend's round of the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) in Cremona, Italy. In the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, Reiti will take over the bike from world championship leader Toprak Razgatlioglu, who is out due to injury after his crash at Magny-Cours and is concentrating fully on his recovery.
Last weekend, Reiti finished the 2024 season in third place overall in the FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC) with the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team. As a closely involved member of the BMW Motorrad factory rider family, he also carries out development work for the WorldSBK together with the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Test Team. Reiterberger also knows the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team very well, as he contested the 2019 WorldSBK season together with the team as a regular rider.
Markus Reiterberger:
"First of all, I would like to wish Toprak a speedy recovery. My focus in Cremona is on supporting the team and BMW Motorrad Motorsport in the best possible way. I know the bike, I know the team, I know WorldSBK - so I think I can quickly familiarise myself with everything. I want to do my bit to ensure that Toprak, the team and BMW can go into the final races with an optimally prepared BMW M 1000 RR and win the world championship titles that he and everyone involved this season more than deserve."
