Reiterberger arrives to the Czech Republic with his fan club
Three weeks ago, the new Euromoto Championship kicked off at the Sachsenring. Markus Reiterberger lined up for the Masteroil Alpha Van Zon BMW Team alongside his team-mates Hannes Soomer (EST), Jan Mohr (GER) and Milan Merckelbagh (NED), securing his first podium of the season with a third-place finish in the first of the two races.
Of course, the Obing native would have loved to be in contention for victories, but the 32-year-old still has some work to do with the new package comprising the BMW M 1000 RR and the Pirelli tyres. That’s why he headed to the 5.4 km Automotodrom Brno circuit in north-eastern Czech Republic last week for testing. He made progress during the test, where he was faster on the Euromoto BMW than on the endurance BMW. With the test going so well, the Bavarian is confident he can compete for higher positions at the second event on the Euromoto calendar.
What is providing Reiti with a particular boost is the announcement that his first official fan club, the 1. Official Markus Reiterberger Fanclub e.V., will be there in force with around 50 members to cheer him on. The event at the Automotodrom Brno will take place from 29 May to 31 May 2026. Markus Reiterberger:
“I’m looking forward to the second Euromoto event. I have really good memories of the circuit, having secured pole position and put in an incredible qualifying performance in the 2018 Superstock1000. I also won the championship that year as European Champion. After last week’s test on the track, I’m feeling confident. We’ve learnt a bit more about the new bike and the tyres, and I was able to ride the Euromoto BMW even a bit faster than the EWC bike. We’ve made some positive progress and I’m slowly starting to understand how to ride the bike, even though I still have quite a bit of work ahead of me. Of course, I want to be in contention for wins in Brno, but ‘Tulo’ (Lukas Tulovic) will be tough to beat there on the Ducati again. I’ll give it my best shot. I’m particularly pleased that my fan club, with over 50 people, will be there to give me the motivation I need.”
