  • Markus Reiterberger (GER), four-time IDM Champion, returns to the Euro Moto (IDM) Championship with the Masteroil - Alpha - Van Zon - BMW team. His comeback is a major boost for a series that continues to grow in strength and popularity. The last time Reiterberger contested a full IDM season, he claimed the title in 2022. He also made a guest appearance in Masteroil’s instantly recognisable black-and-yellow colours in 2024 at Schleiz. Now back with Werner Daemen’s BMW Motorrad supported team, the aim is clear: more trophies for the trophy room.

For 2026, the team’s pit box is packed with firepower. Hannes Soomer (EST) is back on board and will once again be a championship contender, having shown his capabilities last year. Jan Mohr (AT) returns to the team, while Milan Merckelbagh (NL) continues for another season, aiming to build on a solid and promising debut year with the team in 2025.

The 2026 Euro Moto (IDM) season will feature seven rounds at circuits including Sachsenring (GER), Oschersleben (GER), Assen (NL), Most (CZ), Nürburgring (GER) and Hockenheimring (GER). Newly added to the calendar is the legendary World Championship venue in Brno (CZ).

The Masteroil - Alpha - Van Zon - BMW team structure and sponsor lineup will remain almost identical to last season. As a nine-time IDM Superbike Champion team, often referred to as “the champion maker”, the team’s goal is clear once again for 2026: Let’s make more champions.

Markus Reiterberger (Masteroil - Alpha - Van Zon - BMW rider):

“I'm very happy and thankful to Werner, the team, everyone involved, and BMW for giving me another opportunity to race in Euro Moto (IDM). At the moment, Euro Moto seems more competitive, which actually makes it even more exciting for me to fight. There were years when IDM was less competitive, and wins came more easily. But now it’s really tough, so it’s a new challenge for me.

In 2025, the regulations in IDM were not as favorable as we had hoped for BMW motorcycles. With the change to the European Championship, we hope the rules will allow us to be more competitive again. My goal for 2026 is clear: to win another championship title. I believe this is also why Werner and the team asked me to race again.

I want to thank everyone, especially the team. My friend Werner is no longer a manager or team boss, he is and has has been a friend for many years. And BMW: for me, it’s now 14 years together. For 2026, I had another good offer to switch brands, but BMW truly supported me, and I hope we can continue our partnership for many more years. 2026 marks the start of year 15."
