  • Markus Reiterberger is confident as he takes on the new championship format

This weekend, the former International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) kicks off the 2026 season at the Sachsenring in a new format and under the new name ‘EuroMoto’. Markus Reiterberger is also taking part as a regular fixture in the championship for the first time since 2022; riding for the Masteroil Alpha Van Zon BMW Team, he has his sights firmly set on the German championship title.

Sachsenring and Brno are new additions to the EuroMoto calendar, and Markus Reiterberger hasn’t raced at either of these GP circuits for quite some time. The new starting grid, featuring numerous top-class riders, promises thrilling battles for the top positions, and Reiterberger is looking forward to the new challenge of 2026 with confidence and anticipation.

If you haven’t yet got a ticket for the season opener at the Sachsenring, you can secure one online at https://tickets.euromoto.racing. As a small gift to mark the relaunch of the EuroMoto Championship, you can also get a 20% discount on tickets using the code EUROMOTO20. It’s well worth a visit, and not just to support Reiterberger on his return to the Sachsenring.

Markus Reiterberger:

“I’m really delighted to be back competing in the EuroMoto. The field of riders is absolutely brilliant. You can’t even count the potential title contenders on one hand. So it’s going to be a fiercely contested series and the riders will be pushing each other hard, which will of course add to the excitement of the championship. I’m well aware, that it won’t be easy to fight for the championship title, but I’ll give it my all. I also think it’s really good that the championship is evolving and raising the standard with the new format and new venues, including three World Championship circuits. I think it’s a real shame that Schleiz isn’t part of it anymore, but perhaps that will be on the cards again in the future.

I’m really looking forward to working with the Masteroil Alpha Van Zon BMW Team. I’ve been part of Werner Daemen’s team for years now and know the team personally. The tests were already cool. Nothing’s really new to me, apart from the fact that I haven’t ridden at the Sachsenring or in Brno for a very long time. I’ll need to get to know the field of riders first, but I’m confident that we’ll be able to put in a good performance overall and I’m looking forward to the start of the season.”
