No points for the last day in Argentina
The penultimate round of the FIM MOTUL Superbike world championship in Argentinian San Juan took place today with better conditions than any of the days before, because it had cooled down over night. Already during the Warm up Markus Reiterberger took note that the conditions are much better today than any of the days before of this weekend, although the placements of the Superpole Race and the Race two may not show it. Nevertheless the rule of today still was to stay on the ideal line. But Reiti had to leave it twice during the Superpole Race in the morning and lost important positions and time doing so.
He had a good start into the race two and was able to jump up two positions. But with the 17th place at the Superpole Race and the 16th position at the Race two the 25-years-old will not take any points home on the last day of this event. He is now hoping for better conditions at the last event of the WorldSBK-season 2019, which is taking place from 24th to 26th of October on the Losail International Circuit in Qatar.
Markus Reiterberger, #28 - P16: „The track conditions were definitely better than the days before today, but again only on the ideal line. But that was the same for all of us riders. We had made some changes on the bike that did not really have the awaited impact. I had a good start into the Superpole race. But I made a mistake twice and therefore had to leave the line twice, which made me go wide. I was just able to save the 17th position at the end. Of course this is disappointing. We then changed a couple of things again for the second race, but a reckless overtaking maneuver of Loris Baz caused me to go wide again. Unfortunately I also did not take any points home from race two. I tried to catch up to Sandro Cortese during the last few laps, but none of the riders still had rubber on their tyres and it was very slippery. We now have to analyze why we are still that far behind. It is a pity I could not award my team for all their efforts here in Argentina. I hope that we will come to a good end in Qatar.“
