The season continues after successful test in Portimao on Portuguese race track
Two weeks ago Markus Reiterberger and the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team have already been guests with their BMW S 1000 RR Superbikes on the Algarve International Circuit in Portimao, Portugal. At the first official test of the season, after seven weeks of summer break, the cobwebs got blown off with a two days test after the long racing abstinence and the WorldSBK field got slowly back into rhythm.
The track belongs to the calendar of the FIM MOTUL Superbike world championship since 2008. Up to 100.000 spectators find room around the racetrack and it is known for exciting races. Last year „Reiti“ gained the third place on the STK1000 rostrum at this circuit when he was on his way to the European title. The young Bavarian likes the racetrack in the south of the country and after the positive testing two weeks ago, the 25-years-old has a clear goal for the tenth WorldSBK event of the season 2019: a Top Ten result!
Markus Reiterberger, #28: „The test a few weeks ago was really good. I am satisfied with the improvements we made. Also the collaboration inside the team was good and I hope the race-weekend will also be like that and I will have as much fun riding the bike again. My clear target for this weekend is a top ten result. I like the track and I get a lot of support from my friends, who will come to Portimao to watch me race there. I am looking forward to a good and fun racing weekend.“
