Spanish sunshine awaits WorldSBK-stars
Again four weeks have passed since Markus Reiterberger rode for crucial world championship points with his BMW S 1000 RR bike and his BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team. Nevertheless it has not been long ago that the 25-years-old hoped on his Superbike on a racetrack as he and the team went testing to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on which the FIM MOTUL Superbike World Championship will have its event in just two weeks time.
But before that, the squad will stop at the Circuito de Jerez (de la Frontera) Angel Nieto in Andalusia, one of the most beautiful areas of the south of Spain. Jerez is part of the WorldSBK-calendar since the 1990s. After a break the world championship returned to the 4.4 km long racetrack in 2013. Many well-known riders are from the area in which also the famous Sherry gets distilled. But you can not only find Sherry in this area, it is also known for feisty Flamenco and beautiful Andalusian horses, that are impressively strong, even though they only have one HP. Furthermore the circuit is known for its passionate fans, who always create a hilarious atmosphere and cheer on their two-wheel-heroes enthusiastically.
Markus Reiterberger #28:
“I am looking forward to Spain and I hope beautiful Spanish weather is awaiting us. The track is very fluent and I think that suits me. They have changed a lot at the tarmac there during the last years; therefore I hope the conditions will be well. We have adapted many things since the last test here and I am curious how we will do on the Andalusian racetrack. We were able to make some more progress in Misano. I am confident and looking forward to the upcoming event, even though we will have a lot of work to do again. I know that my team will do whatever it takes to get me the best possible premises and I am grateful for that and want to thank my team again.”
