Break is over – Italy’s sun is waiting
After a break of four weeks, the fifth round of the MOTUL FIM Superbike world championship 2019 is taking place this weekend on the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola, in the north of Italy. With hopefully higher temperatures as at the last WorldSBK event in Assen/Netherlands, where the start of the first race had to be postponed due to snowfall, the conditions for Markus Reiterberger, the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team and their BMW S 1000 RR, that will be in Imola with new adjustments again, should be more ideal. Italy, and especially the circuit in Imola, is known for its enthusiastic racing fans and has always been the place to be for spectacular racing in the past. “Reiti” prepared well during the last days for the upcoming weekend and is ready to continue his fight for vital championship points. He was able to show his potential and that of the BMW S 1000 RR with two sixth places and one grid position in the first row (third) in Assen and he hopes to establish on these results furthermore.
Markus Reiterberger #28:
“Imola is a wicked racetrack. It is very demanding and challenging for the riders, but also a lot of fun to ride. I feel more and more comfortable on the bike and I hope we can tie on to the positive weekend we had in Assen. The weather is crucial in Imola. It would be nice if it could be warmer than in Assen four weeks ago. That was really sketchy. Nevertheless you were able to see our true potential there, therefore I am looking forward even more to continue.”
