(EN) Markus Reiterberger gets „green light“ for Laguna Seca

Markus Reiterberger had to stay in hospital due to a heavy fluish infection and therefore was not able to take part in the eighth round of the FIM MOTUL WorldSBK championship. Peter Hickmann stepped in for the 25-years-old in the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team at Donington Park.

But green light was given by the doctors in charge at the clinic in Trostberg to participate in the next round of the WorldSBK championship, that is taking place next weekend, from 12th to 14th of July at the Raceway Laguna Seca, USA. "Reiti" has been released from hospital today. The Bavarian will use the next days to prepare himself the best possible way to sit on his BMW S 1000 RR in his team and will set force on his journey to the United States at the beginning of next week.

Markus Reiterberger: „I had planned to travel to Donington last Wednesday, but when I woke up I felt awkward. I had very high fever, shivers and extremely heavy limb pain. I got brought straight to the sports doctor to Obing. And he sent me directly to the hospital in Trostberg. There, a very heavy bacterial infection and tonsillitis was diagnosed. I had to stay in hospital until today and was given the relevant medication, to get rid of the flu fast, but also completely. I want to thank the clinic in Trostberg, all doctors and nurses who took care of me these last days. Of course I watched all the WorldSBK sessions live on TV and I want to congratulate my team for the first pole position and the podium place in Donington Park. I can’t wait to sit on the bike again myself and I am looking forward to Laguna Seca!“
