Positive first day in Qatar - Reiti back inside Top Ten

The last WorldSBK event of 2019 started in the desert of Qatar at the Losail International Circuit today. Markus Reiterberger has been the best BMW-pilot in the WorldSBK-field for a long time on Thursday. Already during the first free practice he got very close to the Top Ten with an eleventh position and only 0.1 seconds behind his teammate Tom Sykes, who finished in tenth position. Reiti only used one set of tyres during the first free practice and the changes made by his BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team to the BMW S 1000 RR really suit him.

The second free practice went even better for the 25-years-old and he could finish it in eighth position and finally arrived back to the Top Ten. He was only missing a bit over a second to the top. Of course the motivation is high after such a good day. For tomorrow, some tyre decisions will be done and some adjustments to the electronics and the traction, to give Reiti an even better feeling with the bike, especially during turning.

Markus Reiterberger, #28, P8: „I am satisfied. Finally we are back in the Top Ten. I feel much better on the bike than during the last races. We did some changes that went quite well. I only used one set of tyres during the first free practice, that is amazing. I had my best lap time during the last lap. This gave me some extra motivation. We tested some more tyres during the second free practice and at the end I rode constantly 58-lap times. The impressions of today definitely were positive. I am finally back into the Top Ten and that is good. The day went well. The work with my team was really good today. We are planning some more adjustments for tomorrow to give me some more corner-drive. But apart from that everything was good.“
