After the intense World Endurance Championship race weekend in Suzuka, Japan, Markus Reiterberger (Onexox BMW TKKR Racing) went straight on to Indonesia. The Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit will host the fourth of six events in the 2023 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC). Reiti comes as the overall leader to the MotoGP circuit on the holiday island of Lombok.
The 4.313-kilometre track is new territory for Reiti. He proved that new courses are no problem at the last race weekend in Sugo, Japan. On a dry track, Reiti was the fastest rider and took the overall lead. The aim in Mandalika is to defend this lead and, if possible, to extend it before the ARRC goes into an almost three-month break.
The ARRC races are broadcast live on the series' YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@AsiaRoadRacingChampionship
Markus Reiterberger:
"After the exhausting but also very successful weekend in Suzuka, I travelled directly to Indonesia. I used the break between the two events for a few days off to get used to the tropical climate and the time difference. So far, I only know the circuit in Mandalika from the TV broadcasts of the MotoGP and Superbike World Championship. I am looking forward to gaining my first experience on the Grand Prix circuit. The last ARRC event was a few weeks ago. But I have good memories, because in Sugo I took the lead in the championship. The feeling for the bike was really good. I hope that the same feeling will happen this weekend and my team and I can fight for the wins."
