  • Reiterberger leaves Brno with a long-awaited victory in the second race

During Friday’s practice session, a podium finish for the Euromoto weekend in Brno was clearly Markus Reiterberger’s ambition, but it seemed a difficult task. With track conditions drying out during qualifying – which required a bit more caution following a heavy downpour – the 32-year-old nevertheless secured third place on the grid for both Superbike races on Sunday.

After leading for eleven of the 13 laps in Sunday’s first race, Reiti, like many of his rivals, began to suffer from front-tyre wear, and he found it extremely difficult to hold off his two rivals, Marcel Schrötter (Gert56 by Speedbikes) and Lukas Tulovic (Triple M Ducati Frankfurt). He finished the race in third place, securing his second podium of the 2026 Euromoto season.

The Obing native led the second race with authority and was finally able to secure the long-awaited and well-deserved victory. To thunderous applause from his fans, the team and the sponsors, he crossed the finish line 0.775 seconds ahead of his pursuers Lukas Tulovic and Marcel Schrötter.

Satisfied with a successful weekend at the Automotodrom Brno, the team is heading back to the Czech Republic from 26 to 28 June, this time to Most. Reiti is familiar with the circuit; it was there that he secured a victory and the runners-up spot in the 2021 World Endurance Championship with the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team.

Markus Reiterberger:

“It was a very eventful weekend. We’d already made huge progress during testing here in Brno beforehand, and I’m very happy with how Sunday’s race went. I’ve finally managed to pull it off and secure a win. In Race One, I was in the lead for eleven of the 13 laps, but then lost the win to Marcel Schrötter because I went wide. I then unfortunately lost second place to Florian Alt, which was very frustrating as I missed a gear on the final lap and had to settle for third place. But after we made a few changes to the bike, it finally worked out and, after a great start, I was able to overtake on the outside of Turn 1 and secure the lead. We’ve taken a real step forward and won the race, and I’d like to thank my entire team and all our sponsors, my fan club, who turned out in such numbers to support me here, and everyone who contributed to this success.”
