(EN) Preview MotorLand Aragón / Spain

Finally back to Europe

With expected temperatures around 20°C the upcoming weekend (5thto 7thof April 2019) will be much more enjoyable at the MotorLand Aragón in Spain, than it was a few weeks ago in Thailand, when 40°C were prevalent and you almost melted when wearing leathers. The MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship is returning to European sole after the two season-opening-rounds overseas and Markus Reiterberger is looking forward to the first of now six following Superbike events in Europe.

The MotorLand Aragón in Spain is located almost in the middle between Valencia and Barcelona and just about 90 km away from the Spanish city Zaragoza. “Reiti” likes the 5.1 km long racetrack. Last year, still on the STK1000-bike, he rode really fast times that would qualify him into the Top eight of today’s Superbike world championship. So it remains to be seen, how the BMW S 1000 RR is doing on the spectacular circuit. After the last round the manufacturer from Munich has been busy to evaluate all the data from Buriram, Thailand. And so, the 25-years-old Bavarian is really excited to see what new parts for the Superbike BMW will bring to Aragón.

Markus Reiterberger #28: “Aragón is a wicked track and I like it. I am happy that we are finally back to Europe. I was really fast last year with the Superstock-bike in Aragón. If the weather is nice and there is not so much wind then I am confident for good results. If we can do another step with the geometry of the chassis and the balance of the BMW S 1000 RR and if we do not lose too much on the straights, then it can be a really good weekend.”
